MyHaus

In July 2008 I managed to visit the Bauhaus in Dessau, Germany. Today I made the Bauhaus in my office. While I slowly cut around each piece then glued it all into shape and then into place I could remember walking through and taking photos of each part of the building. An amazing place with a fantastic legacy. Shame it lay in disrepair for so long. Fortunately it and the Meisterhaus' are being cleaned up so that the design history can be enjoyed by all the good little designers and architects. You can even stay in the old student accommodation, (the part in the foreground of the 5th photo) for cheaper than the most hotels.
Now i just need to find somewhere to hang my new model.

Project cont.

Another lazy day at home so I managed to clear the desk and create some more animal friends from my fluted cardboard. The collection now consists of a bird, winged rat, egg with wings, penguin, daschund, walrus, kangaroo, elephant and giraffe. I think there is enough card left to make 4 or five more animals so probably a cat, sheep, cow, horse and maybe some more birds to put on top of road signs.

Project

While I am searching for a real job in Sydney I am having a great time doing my own work. So after having created these characters almost 12 months ago I have managed to start realising them. Starting with a huge piece of fluted card I am hoping to have the positive and negative of each character to display within a couple of weeks. So far, so good. And a few stickers to go along with them.

Hey, bored much?

Ever have one of those days where you get bored then decide you should get motivated and do something. Well thats how this started. I little bit of postcard liberation and in appropriate theme for easter I had picked up this postcard in a local cafe that had a could of rabbits just begging to jump off the page. Hopefully i can find some more characters to liberate.
Following on from carefully cutting around the rabbits I decided that a abstracted photo I took earlier in the day needed an quick addition to transform it into a alien landscape. Enter lumbering hulky shape. Having not spent ages on it I'm happy with it for a rough.
Can you guess what/where the photo is of?
